Given the concerns around the COVID-19 virus and our goal to protect our employees, clients and the community at large, Tierney Stauffer has implemented a number of measures to increase social distancing, as recommended by Ottawa Public Health.

Accordingly, we will limit meetings to only those situations which absolutely require a meeting take place. We will maintain this procedure until the relevant health authorities advise that it is safe to return to our regular routine. Please do not come to our office without making an appointment.

We will be available to consult and provide help through email, telephone and, where the client allows, text, Face Time and Skype.

Documents may be exchanged by email, except those documents which require an added level of security. In such circumstances you can contact our lawyers and staff in order to establish a secure link with you.

We will be making arrangements to maintain safe contact in terms of hand-delivering documents to our office.

Our office shall keep its doors open, as always, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Mondays through Friday, save for the upcoming Easter closures on April 10th and 13th.

However, it is expected that many of our professionals will be working from home, to minimize the risk to everyone’s health.

As mentioned, contact will be maintained through all appropriate means.

All of us at Tierney Stauffer will strive to maintain business as usual, keeping in mind that certain government institutions will not be operating in the usual course.

For example, the civil Courts have ceased operations for an undetermined period, although you are still able to file your Claim or Defence electronically.
